James Tissot (French, 1836–1902) | Tea | 1872 ;cuppa tea

Happy birthday to James Tissot, born on this day in 1836. When Tissot moved to London in 1871, he immersed himself in the local scene, with work for Vanity Fair and genre paintings with the river Thames as backdrop as seen here. The artist’s friend Degas owned a pencil study for this work. http://met.org/ZCGVYy

Urban Dictionary: cuppa

slang contraction of "cup of", believed to be Irish in origin.

Meaning to have a cup of whatever the person offering is drinking, not necessarily tea, or coffee.
"Come 'ere an' 'ave yerself a cuppa, mate!"
